About Us

We operate across three Local Authority areas: Aberdeen City, Aberdeenshire and Moray.  We currently own and manage over 1900 properties the bulk of which is affordable rent, we also have several shared ownership properties. Our subsidiary, Castlehill Trust, provides specially designed housing for people with particular needs.

The Association is funded partly by grants and partly by loans from banks and building societies. It is a non-profit making charity and is monitored by the Scottish Housing Regulator.

In 2011, we established a non-registered, non-charitable subsidiary, “Castlehill Solutions”, to enable us to carry out activities that are complimentary to the core objectives of Castlehill but could not be done by the parent charitable Company.

Aims and Objectives

Castlehill aims to provide good quality housing, at an affordable rent, for those in greatest need. The Association works in partnership with many voluntary agencies and local authorities to provide appropriate care and support for vulnerable members of the community. It seeks to provide quality management and maintenance services, and to ensure that homes are well designed and constructed to a high standard.

Management

The Association is run by a Management Committee made up of local people including tenants, working on a voluntary basis. They meet regularly to discuss and decide policies and to oversee the work of the Association. Three Sub Committees deal with the detailed decisions involving (a) Housing Management (maintenance, allocations, ongoing management), (b) Finance and (c) Development (new buildings). Staff members are responsible for the day-to-day work and report to the committees.

Membership

Anyone who is interested in the work of Castlehill may apply for membership of the Association. The one-off membership fee is £1.00. Members can vote to elect the Management Committee at the AGM and be nominated themselves for election to the Committee. Membership forms and further details are available at our office.
