CaRTO – your tenant group
What is CaRTO?
CaRTO (Castlehill Registered Tenants Organisation) is an independent, tenant-led group that has been active since 2015. It's open to all Castlehill tenants who want to help shape the services and policies that affect them. No experience needed!
By joining CaRTO, you can:
- Share your views and influence decisions
- Meet other tenants
- Access free training and events
- Get support with CaRTO-related travel and expenses
What does CaRTO do?
CaRTO works in partnership with Castlehill, providing feedback, making recommendations and helping shape policies, procedures and publications. They also lead their own tenant-focused projects, including:
- CaRTO Funding: small grants for tenant-led projects
- Housing Perks: a discount app for tenants
- Virtual Coffee Chats: informal online meetups
- Digital Support: help getting online
How CaRTO works
CaRTO meets online monthly (currently, the second Wednesday of each month at 6pm, approx. 1.5 hours). Members stay connected via Basecamp, an easy-to-use online platform for sharing documents, giving feedback and staying informed.
New to online meetings?
No problem. Support is available to help you get started with Zoom and Basecamp. There's also an option to dial in by phone if you're not online.
What to expect
Meetings are led by tenants and focus on housing services. Topics are shared on Basecamp in advance so you have time to prepare. Some recent areas of discussion include:
- Customer service standards
- Rent consultations
- Tenant satisfaction surveys
- Policy reviews
- Strategic planning
- Castlehill Connects newsletter
- Performance reporting
Prefer flexibility?
CaRTO Home Link lets you take part without attending meetings. Join discussions, share feedback, and stay informed at your own pace, just an email address is needed.
