House Exchange is Castlehill’s go-to service for mutual exchanges, it is completely free to use. Just visit www.houseexchange.org.uk, pop in your details, and the system will match you with others across the UK who are also looking to move.

• Download the app from Apple or Android store
• Write a description of your property using their easy tools
• Add photos it helps make your listing stand out
• Start messaging and arranging viewings once you’re matched

Castlehill is happy to process mutual exchange applications, and we’re here to help guide you through the process.

To get started, a few important conditions need to be met:

We need a satisfactory tenancy reference from your current landlord

All rent, repairs, heating charges, and legal fees must be fully up to date

A property inspection by one of our Property Services Officers is essential

Our tenant must be available for electric and if applicable, gas checks to be carried out on the day of the exchange

Any required repairs must be completed or paid for before approval

These checks help make sure both parties are moving into a well-maintained home. If any of the above aren’t met, we won’t be able to approve the exchange.

Once you apply, we aim to give you a decision within 28 days, but don’t start packing or make moving plans until you have written approval. If our officer can't access your property properly it could delay or even stop the process.
